Elegant Themes is a Premium WordPress Theme Membership site owned and run by Nick Roach that features not only the best deal in premium themes but also some of the best and most unique designs out there. Unlike other premium theme sites, where you can browse through many premium themes and buy them individually (for a high price), at Elegant Themes you get access to tons of premium templates by joining the membership program.

Over 160,000 customers trust Elegant Themes and find it to be the go-to-place to grab the latest and freshest themes.  Nick releases 1 to 2 themes that fully meet the newest requirements for WordPress – so expect new themes with new WordPress updates.

I have been a member of Elegant Themes for a year or so and I really love them. All their theme releases have been fantastic and they have made it much easier for me to make my websites look amazing. And since I am such a fan of this website I thought it was about time I wrote an Elegant Themes Rating and Review of Elegant Themes – The Good and The Bad

How Elegant Themes Works

As I said, Elegant Themes works on a membership basis. You pay $39 and you get access to all the previous and future themes developed during your time as a member (you will have to pay the $39 to renew each year). Once you are a member you can browse and download any theme on the site.

This makes Elegant Themes one or probably the most affordable place to get Premium Themes. At many other places you will be paying over $30 just for 1 theme, while here you will get around 40 (and more when new ones come out).

What Does Elegant Themes Have to Offer?

As I’m writing this review of elegant themes , ease of use is prevalent on my mind.

So many times I…and maybe you too…have uploaded a theme to my website and once I get in there to try and make my website unique, I realize quickly that I’d made a mistake. Many themes are very hard to customize. Is this true with Elegant Themes?

Functionality…and ease of use is crucially important when it comes to your theme.

I’ve got to say, with Elegant Themes you definitely get both – great ease of use and functionality.

Why Did I Join

I originally joined Elegant Themes because I was looking for a theme to run StyleWPThemes.Com and at the time I wasn’t much of a web developer. Now I of course have designed and programed my own theme (if you look around you will notice how specific everything is for my site’s needs).

Anyway, I joined and I actually downloaded a theme called “egallery” which I began using on StyleWPThemes and really loved it. At that time Nick Roach hadn’t developed the ePanel, but the theme still came from some pretty cool customizations in the admin panel, it worked well right out of the box and looked great and read more Review of Elegant Themes – The Good and The Bad ...

Later, Stylewpthemes.com took a turn and became more of a theme showcase and blog site. So I joined the Affiliate Program to start making some money.

Was It Worth It

Was it worth it? Simply put, Yes. To start with it was a super affordable way to get some amazing premium themes for my blogs. Second, Nick Roach does some amazing work with these themes and digging into the back-end of his themes helped me learn some pretty nifty web design/coding tricks. Last, the affiliate program has been quite successful. Not only do i get to recommend a really great product, but I get some money for it. And Elegant Themes offers a super high payout of 50%.

What is Cool About Elegant Themes

Price

I have already talked about this, but just to enforce it a bit more. Elegant Themes will provide you with probably the best Premium Theme deal ever.

What makes this theme club different than others?  Instead of paying upwards of $200 to $400 to join a premium club, you pay $39.  YES, $39.

Pricing is made super easy.  There are prices for all the themes available: $39 will get you access to all themes plus updates and future releases for ONE year.  For $89, you get access to everything, including plugins, updates, support and future releases for one year.

Something to note, is that for prices like that, many are tempted to buy because of price only.  Of course, it’s for good reason since there are quite a number of themes from other designers that cost more for only 1 design vs getting over 80 themes and future releases from ElegantThemes.  I guess you have to ask yourself is more better?

Refunds

Typically most theme companies sell digital goods as FINAL sale but with ElegantThemes and StudioPress, there is a 30-day money back refund policy.

Design

Have you checked out the themes? They are freaking awesome. It looks like Nick Roach is always ahead of the curve when it comes to web design trends. Every theme he releases is filled with super modern techniques and functionality. Not only do they look great they work.

ePanel

For me not such a big deal, but for a lot of you that don’t want to get your hands messy from digging into and changing all the code, every Elegant Themes theme has an “ePanel” which is Nick Roach’s custom, super awesome and beautiful theme admin panel. From here you will be able to make all sorts of customizations to your theme as well as disable and enable certain features of your theme.

Elegant themes comes with a number of user-friendly controls and options to customize the theme.  Experts and newbies will find the theme simple to use and alter, and will find it convenient some of the added features, like integrated responsive design that will make your website optimized for mobile viewing.

Support

Support comes with your membership.  If you can’t find what you need on the forum from past discussions, Nick Roach also employs about 20 people to assist with all technical issues (includes themes and plugins).

Design and SEO

The best selling point of Elegant Themes is its fabulous backgrounds and color choices to create a relaxing effect on visitors.  One of the things that ElegantThemes does best is stay true to its look.

Important to all website owners is being to control the search engine settings of your website.  Via the ePanel, SEO settings can be manipulated by managing keywords, meta tags, and canonical URL’s for all pages, posts and categories.  This is all helpful but I still use free WordPress plugins offered on WordPress.org like All-in-One SEO and Yoast SEO.

Plugins

Elegant Themes offers some fascinating and useful plugins including a page builder.  This drag and drop functionality allows you to make adding buttons, image sliders, testimonials and more to both your pages and posts quickly.

Shortcodes

Additional plugins include a Maintenance Mode plugin for creating a coming soon page before your new website has been released to the public, a ShortCodes plugin to give you access to a big library of buttons, pricing tables, boxes and additional features pages.

Elegant Themes has recently include a huge list of shortcodes to all their themes that will allow you to easily add cool buttons, sliders, tabbed content, columns, content, social media, tool tips, and much more to your site right via your regular post editor. This means you can make your site AWESOME without having  to touch much of the code or work in HTML-Mode.

The Downside

Some people have complained about the quality of the replies to questions from the forum moderators and the poor interface.  Other than that, if you do a Google search there are not many complaints, especially given how many customers they have.

Theme Localization

All the themes have been localized for easy and complete translation into your native language. With the included .mo and .po files you can easily translate the theme into a different language (they are in English by default) and the themes already come with some pre-translation files for some languages to make it even easier.

Support And Updates

Having a well coded and beautiful WordPress Theme doesn’t really mean anything if you aren’t insured for longevity. WordPress is constantly changing and updating its platform, which means you have to constantly making sure your wp theme is up to date and has all the latest features and the most up-to-date code. Using an Elegant Theme is a smart choice because they are constantly updating and adding to all their themes so you don’t have to.

And if you are a WordPress and/or web development rookie, fear not. Elegant Themes has a great support system where you can enter any issue you have within your account panel and the Elegant Staff will help you out with your problem. You have probably used a free theme in the past, ran into an issue and try contacting the free theme developer, but never heard back from them. This is the problem with free themes…they almost never provide support or help. But with Elegant Themes you can make sure your website or blog goes up and runs smoothly.

Ease of Use…

Using their ‘ePanel’, you’ll be able to customize virtually each and every element of your website. Using this control-panel you don’t have to know ANY coding at all. Everything becomes super simple. You can turn different features off and on as needed without hassle… alter your layout; manage ads and ad placement; fiddle with the different colors; etc.

Search Engine Optimization…

One thing that made elegant themes stand out in my mind was the search engine settings that allow you to easily adjust using the ePanel. Search engine rankings of course are important to any website owner, because getting picked up for key terms and rank means that you can find yourself with a lot of visitors, with not much effort.

Elegant Themes has a very good record for being very search engine friendly, but doubles up on that reputation when you consider how simple and easy they make it to adjust the SEO settings such as managing keywords, titles, meta tags, and even canonical URL’s for homepage, pages, posts, and categories.

But How About What Really Matters…Do Elegant Themes Look Good?

Nick Roach creates all the Themes with Elegant Themes. As of this writing there are 78 separate unique themes to choose from. Nick releases about 2 new ones per month, and apparently he’s currently going back to older ones and updating them which shows how much he cares about his customers.

But in a nutshell, the themes are ALL basically exactly what you’d want your themes to look like.

First of all, no matter what business you’re in, you’re going to be able to use many of these 78 available themes. These are good whether you’re using them a as a normal blog, a site for your business, an online ecommerce store, Q&A sites, a portfolio site, an online resume, an online gallery…you name it!! You’re very likely to find a theme for it within Elegant Themes.

The fact is that these themes look extremely professional. They’ve got very sharp and high resolution graphics, and the schemes are all meant to compliment but not clash with your content. In other words they’re pleasing to the eye, and so they’re going to make people want to stick around longer and consume your material. That’s the idea right?

This would mean a better chance for your visitors to take the action that you’re looking for whether that’s call you for business, download your music, buy your stuff, etc. All because of the classy and well…elegant… designs that they provide.

How Much Does Elegant Themes Cost?

Here’s where it truly gets good. Where most other premium theme memberships cost you an arm and a leg, usually asking a “start-up” fee of a couple hundred bucks, plus a monthly fee (or one big fat flat fee), Elegant Themes is just $39 a year which gets you UNLIMITED use of all of their themes.

Any Cons to Elegant Themes?

The only wart on Elegant Themes that I can really find is their customer support. Basically, if you have trouble, you’re stuck with only a support forum. However, you could also look at it as a ton of heads is better than one theory. Plus there’s a lot of savings for you.

So What’s the Verdict…Should You Use Elegant Themes?

Well besides the customer support issue with Elegant Themes, I think that if what you’re looking for are professional looking themes that are simple to use…yet robust in performance, then you can’t go wrong with Elegant Themes. Especially at only $39 a year which is insane.

Unlike many other wp theme sites you aren’t just paying for 1 theme you are getting 55 themes plus the premium support and updates. That is a super good deall.

Elegant Themes Premium WordPress Theme Club

Forget $200 to $500 like many other premium theme clubs, for $39…YES, $39 – members get unlimited access and unlimited use to all of Nicks’ premium WordPress Themes. To date there are 80 elegant WordPress Themes, with 2-3 currently in production. He typically releases 1-2 new WordPress Themes per month – the most recent being the Fusion WordPress Theme added to this list on 2020.

I’m going to get out of the way and let Nick’s design speak for itself. As you will see, these are top notch designs that would normally run you several thousand dollars a piece (I’ve researched hiring a good WordPress theme designer, and that is the going rate – typically the floor of their going rate).

Elegant themes has over 80 themes (85 as of now) and are updated quite frequently. The kicker for me, because I’m a tweeker, was the support. their support section in short is wonderful, sometimes frustration and a little tricky to navigate. But there is so much information available that you are bound to find the answer to your customization problems.I if you can’t find the answers you are looking for you can always put in a ticket and get personal help for the exact issue with your theme. Sometimes you will get answers to your theme customization questions quickly, and sometimes it might take a day or two.
