There seems to be a prevalence of responsive themes popping up that tend to favor a sort of modular look that is reshuffled as the browser window is resized. I’m not sure exactly when it started happening, but all I know is I like it. It’s clean, simple, elegant, and gets the job done if you’re anyone from an artist looking to showcase works to a blogger wanting a unique way to publish your posts. No matter the case, I can say definitively that Century premium WordPress theme by Themes Kingdom is one of my favorite executions of this style.

The thing I feel that Century has going for it is in the details. Most themes in this style tend to be too minimal, almost stark actually. While this works for most people and is strictly a matter of style, I like the subtle touches that Themes Kingdom has added to their Century theme. Soft borders and shadows create a warm depth to an otherwise monochromatic design, which is actually perfect as it steps out of the way and lets your content shine and take center-stage. I also like how Century takes advantage of WordPress’ custom post types, making a lot of content available right on the homepage without having to reload the site all over again. Music clips and videos are just a click away and load seamlessly, creating an experience that is refreshingly simple to navigate.

Of course Century premium theme comes with all the regular WordPress goodies you’d expect, along with a few extras that Themes Kingdom has added in for good measure. The Shortcode generator for instance is nice as it allows you to not have to memorize all of those new shortcodes you’ll be using as soon as you get Century up and running. However, if you do decide that you’d like to make some edits to the theme, all Photoshop files are included, allowing you to make more drastic style changes. Superb documentation is provided just in case there is that off chance that you happen to get stuck editing up updating something.
